The wonderful people at Cutting Edge Stencils were kind enough to send me one of their “Paint-A-Pillow” stencil kits to try out and review!

Everything you need in one box!
I have to say, this is the most complete stencil kit I have ever seen. Not only do they provide EVERYTHING you need from start to finish–they even set it up so that all you have to do is open the box and go! Take a look!

It’s all here!
I was very impressed with the way Cutting Edge Stencils packaged this kit. The pillow slip (which is what you will be stenciling) is already placed in the cardboard frame which has the stencil in held in place with little tabs. You simply unwrap it and its ready to go. There is a comprehensive set of directions which include photos, as well as a video tutorial available on their website. You choose your paint color and stencil design and they supply the paint, tray, foam roller, stencil brush and a stir stick. They even give you a small stencil and fabric scrap to practice on!
Cutting Edge Stencils sent me an extra pillow, and I selected navy and gray paints, but in the end I loved the navy so much that I did both pillows the same. This was the absolute easiest project I ever did!
- Roll on paint acording to instructions . .
- let dry a few minutes . . .
- Remove stencil!
I did use an iron to heat set the paint after it was completely dry. It’s all in the instructions! Once dry and heat set its time to assemble your pillow!
- Open the bag with the pillow form and fluff it up . . .
- unzip the pillow slip and insert pillow . . .
- zip her up!
Super easy and the results are gorgeous! There are a huge array stencil patterns and paint colors to choose from! Cutting Edge Stencils has also designed a line of tassels, flowers, and studs to embellish your pillows too. Your finished pillows will easily rival designer pillows at a fraction of the cost!
Here’s a photo of the two pillows that I made.
From opening the box to completion (including dry time, heat set and this photo) it was approximately 3 hours! Two gorgeous pillows in the pattern and color(s) I wanted. Oh, did I mention these pillows are soft (passed the nap test) and washable? They can be used outdoors too! Pretty, practical and easy, just the way I like my projects!

Although Cutting Edge Stencils provided me with the Paint-A-Pillow kit and extra pillow in exchange for a review, all opinions are my own. I value my readers and will always give an accurate and honest opinion of any items I review!
