My oldest granddaughter, Emilie, just turned 13. She finally has her own bedroom and her first order of business was to find a vanity! We did some searching, online and locally and came across this little gem. She loved the shape and size, but not the color.
I actually painted this piece before we even unpacked from the move (see house swap here) and, in my hurry to get it done, I forgot to take before photos of the piece with the mirror attached before I started working!
Baaaad Blogger!
I hate prep work so I chose Chalk Paint and Clear Wax
. Normally when using chalk paint I don’t do much sanding, but this piece had some flaking going on with the finish and a couple of areas I wanted to smooth out, so I gave it the once over with some sandpaper.
The turned legs are so pretty and the fancy detail really gives the piece very feminine feel. Just look at the adorable hardware–the original keys were even in the drawers!
Loving the cute drawer pulls.
It’s all in the details!
Two Coats of paint and 3 coats of wax later and this adorable vanity is all put back together and in the room.
It took all of 10 minutes for Emmy to fill the drawers!
Thanks So Much for Stopping by,

I love how your vanity worked out! Working with Annie Sloan chalk paint is a lot of fun!
Thanks Mom Home Guide–Love chalk paint! Emmy is very happy with her vanity! Thanks for visiting, Be Well, Karen
Love this!
Thanks Donna!
Karen,
The vanity turned out beautiful. Your grand daughter must be so b happy with her own room and a piece of furniture her grandma finished.
Happy Creating,
Karen Marie
Thanks so much Karen Marie. I really appreciate your stopping by the blog. Emmy Loves the vanity, now I have to find another for her younger sister, Ashlynn–thank goodness Tatum is only a 1 yr old so we have lots of time for her! LOL
Thanks Again’
