Just a quick FYI–I replaced the cotton pads with paper towel cut up to fit the container!!
I made my own DIY Make-up Remover Pads and I absolutely love them!
Not only do they remove all of my makeup (including waterproof mascara) easily and quickly, my skin feels incredibly soft and hydrated!! They work great!
These wipes literally took me less than 20 minutes to make–seriously!

4-6 oz glass container with a lid
cotton pads (square or round) Bad Idea!
Bounty Paper Towels (select a size) or a similar heavy weight paper towel–cut into squares or circles to fit into the jar
3 tbsp of fractionated coconut oil
2 tsp of Pure Castile Soap (Hemp Tea Tree is the one I used-choose the one you like)
10 drops of Lavender Essential Oil**
distilled water (to fill container to the top)
**I use Young Living Essential Oils!! The lavender link takes you to my sign up page–you don’t need to sign up to shop or look around. Just click the Retail box on the Right Side. Gather Your Supplies:
Wash and dry your container. I show a tall and short container above, but I like the short wide-mouth better. It’s easier to get the paper towel pads in and out!
The first step is to measure your fractionated coconut oil and add it to the container.
Measure and add your Castile Soap to the container with the fractionated coconut oil. Castile soap comes in quite a few scents and you can choose the one you like best.
Now for the Lavender! I use Young Living Essential Oils for all my projects. You can check them out here! I added around 8 drops of lavender oil to the mixture and stirred well.
Next step is to add distilled water to the rim of the jar and stir well.
It will look something like this!
Now you’re going to take a few paper towel pads at a time and immerse them into the mixture–keep adding until full. As I stated before, I was originally going to use the cotton pads shown above. They were a clumpy mess so I tried cutting up some “sturdy” paper toweling (like Bounty or Brawny). The toweling would work much better–held it’s shape beautifully!
Press them into the mixture and when full put the lid on and shake gently. They’re ready to use!
I’ve been using these for a few weeks now and I’m really happy with them My daughter has very sensitive skin and has been using them with no problems at all. You can add different or more oils if you want too!
