Hi!
I’m Karen and I’m so glad you’re here!
I love everything home and family-crafts, DIY, decorating, gardening, organizing–anything that helps make my house a home!
A Little Background!
I married my high school sweetheart!
I have two amazing daughters, a son-in-law who stole my heart, and 5 crazy-wonderful grandchildren!
***
I am addicted to coffee and home decorating magazines.
I have a small-table fetish-I find them and have to buy them so,
if you need a place to put a lamp, I’m your girl!
***
I can’t get enough crafts, DIY, and home decor!
My husband is a talented woodworker and he has renovated all of our homes and actually built one of them!
There isn’t a home improvement project we haven’t tackled-painting, tiling, counter-tops, cabinetry,
sanding, refinishing, re-purposing, making toys, indoor and outdoor furniture,
landscaping and just about every craft imaginable.
We would love to share projects and ideas with you.
Our House Swap
- Our old house!
- Our swap house!
We swapped houses with our daughter and son-in-law. Really!
Our homes are back to back with a gate and small fence between the yards!
We have 5 bedrooms, 3 baths and a basement, garage and family room!
They had a cute 3 bedroom ranch! We have no children at home–they have 4!
Nobody wanted to move away so when they outgrew their home we decided to swap!
You can see more about that here “Change Is Good”!
Follow us as we make “their” home “ours”!

Why A Blog?
To be honest, I started this blog as an outlet a couple of years ago–a way to keep my sanity while I was caring for my Mom. Her health started to fail about 16 years ago with the last 5-6 years leaving me with no options but to stay home and care for her. I don’t regret it for a minute. You can read about my journey with my mom here .
So, grab a cup of something, get comfortable and take a look around!
